The quiet agreement

Terms of use

LAST UPDATED · APRIL 22, 2026

These terms cover tangos.earth, the tangOS waitlist, and any preview code we make available before the public release. Plain-English on purpose. If something changes, the date above changes with it.

The short version

tangOS is a personal project, offered as-is, with no warranty. If you join the waitlist, we'll email you once when the beta opens. We won't sell your address, bundle you into a newsletter, or treat you as a lead.

The waitlist

The signup form sends your email address from your own mail client to hello@tangos.earth. We store it in an inbox only. We use it to tell you when the beta is open and for nothing else. You can ask us to forget you at any time by replying to any message or writing to the same address — we'll delete your record and confirm.

The software

tangOS is released under the MIT License. The membrane, the local checkpoint, and every policy it runs are open for inspection. You're free to read, run, fork, modify, and redistribute the software subject to the license terms.

Because tangOS runs locally and mediates agent actions on your machine, you remain responsible for what your agents do. The membrane is a safety layer, not a guarantee. It catches a great deal. It will not catch everything. Treat it like a seatbelt: essential, and not a reason to drive recklessly.

What we don't do

We don't track you across the web. There are no analytics scripts, no ad pixels, and no third-party embeds on this site. Your browser speaks to our static host and to Google Fonts for typography — nothing else.

No warranty

tangOS and this site are provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the authors and copyright holders are not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from use of the software or this site. The full legal form of this disclaimer lives in the license.

Contact

Questions, takedown requests, or anything else: hello@tangos.earth. A human will read it.
